Find What’s Just Right for You. Be Like Goldilocks…

Finding what’s just right isn’t easy but Miss Locks had it right. Who remembers the fairytale? She tried the chairs, the beds, and the food until she was able to find what was just right for her. That’s the lesson we all should learn as women. So often our roles are defined by what’s thrust upon us or what we think is the “right” thing to do to please parents or live out whatever expectations we attempt to live up to. Then, instead of experiencing the fulfillment and joy that we deserve, we end up feeling misaligned, disillusioned and unfulfilled.

When It’s Not a Fairytale

Thinking back on my working career, I never quite felt a complete sense of personal fulfillment or satisfaction; I wasn’t able to find what was just right for me, which matters a great deal to me. I did the “safe” thing and pursued a “good government job,” which it was, as it provided me with wonderful experiences and relationships, stability and great benefits – and your girl is grateful!!! What it DIDN’T provide me, though, was full sense of affirmation of who I am. Because I kind of stepped on the moving staircase of that federal life, I was never fully in control of my professional direction. I didn’t go into the Government with a clear idea of what I wanted to do – well, actually I did but I was talked out of trying to become a DEA agent because of the danger and challenges that I would face as a woman. (Spanish was always one of my favorite classes. I loved learning the language and thought that career would allow me to learn and use it, travel to Latin America AND take some bad guys down in process!) Instead, I took whatever came my way with the occasional position that felt like a good fit at the time. I realized only after years of working that my true strengths were with people, and by that time it was difficult to pivot without a great deal of (unwanted) effort and disruption on my family and me. So I rode out the years as best as I could, biding my time until I could leave with the health insurance for my family that would cover us without worry into our future. Yes, I stayed for health insurance. Don’t get me wrong, that’s a huge benefit that other people have to regularly figure out that we don’t but in the grand scheme of things, I personally didn’t receive what I would have wanted from a lifelong career. I never found my “just right.”

Find Your Just Right

That’s what led me to my current path. I’m here to help you avoid living a misaligned life by helping you identify who you are and, in return, what truly fits and reflects you. It’s okay, and even natural, “to try” on different things but the goal is to find out what looks and feels like you so you ultimately experience the sense of personal fulfillment and purpose that you deserve. Otherwise you’re wasting your time merely existing when you should instead be living a life that fills you up and allows you to pour out in a way that really makes impact from the best parts of you.

You have to find what makes you feel beYOUtiful:  filled with the confidence that comes from knowing that you are living and operating from the things about you that make you YOU. There’s nothing more empowering or affirming than that and that HAS to be your goal. The awesome thing is that you don’t have to figure it out or do it alone. I’m here to help you find your fulfillment, Friend — your just right — and I’m just a click away… Contact me for a consultation and let’s get you to your happily ever after.
