Love is a Battlefield

Too often lately, I’ve heard about relationship after relationship that is limping along, hanging on by a thread, or in which the husband and/or wife has just completely given up and divorced.  Especially in the Black community, we have suffered because of a lack of solid, healthy relationships to pattern our own after and we learn by trial and error what does and doesn’t work.  Divorce statistics among believers match those of non-believers and though we recite over and over that “we can do all things through Christ,” we somehow can’t fit our relationships into that “all things” category.

That brings me here.  There was a time a few years ago that I experienced what I call a high-speed download of a vision to focus the attention of as many people as these words will reach on what it’s going to take to combat the attack of the enemy on our families and our relationships — my own included.  I believe that, because God is the GREATEST power, we don’t have to be defeated in our relationships due to our failure to overcome insecurities, address our issues of low self-esteem, refuse treatment for our issues and hang-ups, or because we just don’t give Him the space in our lives to help us move beyond the chains that bind us.  I’m on a mission to take on the enemy and fight him toe-to-toe to get us ALL healthy and, in turn, give us the best odds possible of success in the very FIRST institution that He created:  the institute of marriage!  NOT the church — our FAMILIES!!!  I hope you’ll join me in the fight…
